Build your own rustic wall sconce with this free printable template from Samhain Propworks.
I originally designed this sconce as a simple way to add a little old-world atmosphere to a wall without making the build unnecessarily complicated. Pair it with an oversized LED candle and you’ve got something that works beautifully for Halloween displays, haunted houses, gothic décor, medieval or fantasy-themed rooms—or simply because normal wall decorations aren’t dramatic enough.
This free template provides the pattern used to create the wooden wall sconce featured in my Wall Sconce Candle Tutorial. Print the template, transfer the pattern to your material, cut your pieces, and follow along with the video to build your own.
The design is intentionally straightforward and can easily be adapted, resized, embellished, distressed, stained, painted, or otherwise abused until it fits whatever strange corner of your world needs a giant candle.
IMPORTANT PRINTING NOTE: Print the template at 100% / Actual Size with all printer scaling disabled. Do not select Fit to Page or Scale to Fit. Check the included reference measurement before transferring the pattern.
